From the Desk of Fr. Schaller - June 6, 2021

The Feast of Corpus Christi (The Body of Christ) is an opportunity for the Church to reflect more deeply on the mystery of the Gift which the Lord left us in the Mass. At every Mass, our offerings of bread and wine are brought to the Altar of Sacrifice and, by the words and actions of the priest who stands in persona Christi (in the person of Christ), they become the Body and Blood of Christ. Though the appearances of bread and wine remain, by faith (in the promise of the Lord Himself given at the Last Supper) we know that we receive the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Savior Jesus Christ. According to the constant teaching of the Church, we receive the “whole Lord” whether we receive Him under the “form of bread” only or the “form of wine” only. Lord, we thank You for giving us Your very Self in the Holy Eucharist! “Sweet Sacrament, we Thee adore! Oh, make us love Thee, more and more! Oh, make us love Thee, more and more!”

As we near the end of the parish’
s fiscal year (June 30, 2021), and a full year of the Wuhan virus pandemic, I wish to thank again those many parishioners who have responded so generously in their financial support of our parish. I commend your support of the Diocesan Annual Appeal as well. We made our target and have well surpassed it. Since we receive a full rebate of all gifts which exceed the target, your support of the DAA benefits our parish, as well as funding many Diocesan needs. Gifts to the DAA can still be made before the close of the fiscal year on June 30. My primary mission is to direct and support the spiritual life of all our parishioners; and with the assistance of the Pastoral & Finance Councils and parish staff, I am looking forward for many good things in the future. Your continued generous financial support will insure that we can take care of the necessary material needs of our parish, and fund the spiritual needs, too. Thank you!

May God bless you!
Fr. Schaller
